NO!: The use of non medically prescribed drugs and its' effects will have a major impact on the unborn child as well as the mother. Have your friend let her OB MD know of this issue PRIOR to labor and delivery as closer fetal screening is needed now.

Some basics: If I am called by CPS or the nursery team to rule out drug exposure in a newborn I have various options on where to look. It is not an automatic study. I can usually produce evidence that stands up in court for ANY drug exposure after the first 12 weeks. Her best bet is to stay clean & avoid being surrounded by suspicious characters at delivery. She should tell her OBGYN if any further use occurs
