Sure rib?: Left upper pain in chest,I would worry about heart and lungs also.Did you have any trauma to to the area and does it get worse with movement then likely muscleskeletal.Deep breath make it hurt I would be concerned on lungs-especially if short of breath.I would go to see your primary to get checked out.If just soreness could be inflammation of the cartilage but why take chances.
