Need more info: There is a myriad of causes of chest pain starting with simple and benign such as inflammation of the junction between the cartillaginous and the bony portions of the rib called costochondritis to life threatening ones requiring immediate medical attention, usually heart related. I will need more info to help diagnose your condition, though.

Costochondriti: Iflamation around the ribs. Nsaids help and should be self limiting.
