No effect: The infection is inside the bone and soft tissue, somewhere where the salt water will not reach. Are you under the care of a dentist? If not, please be seen ASAP. Antibiotics may not be enough... the abscess may need to be drained to accelerate the healing process. If you are self medicating, please understand that the antibiotics you are taking may not be effective for your infection.
