A member asked:

I am a runner who was out for 16 months with injury. upon return my hr was average 150 but recently has been close to 200. hr has never been this high?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Out of shape ???: The maximum heart rate during exercise that a persons system can reasonably tolerate is ~220 minus your age in years. Your post suggests you are out of shape and pushing yourself beyond a reasonable point for your level of rehab or you have an underlying problem. Slow it down some and see your doc before you continue at this pace.
