A member asked:

I was told i have middle ear infection last week. my ear is still blocked and i have a small lump outside my ear,in the front, should i worry about it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ear infections : It can take a while for the fluid in the middle ear to resolve after the acute infection is treated. External ear infection is infection in the canal and is caused by moisture getting trapped in the wax. Both cause blocked sensation. The lump in front of the ear is most likely a reactive lymph node and should resolve in a few weeks if the infection is treated.
