Yes if it is: bacterial urethritis and the pathogen is susceptible to it. Male urethritis can be traumatic, chemical, chlamydial, or bacterial. Bactrim is a fair chioice but strongly suggest you determine the cause before taking an antibiotic which is not necessarily benign.
