A member asked:

Is it normal to bleed a lot a week after taking plan b, and when will the symptoms end?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"Plan B": Using "Plan B" for contraception is not dependable, and since any form of a "Plan B" is basically the same as a birth control pill in composition (both estrogen and progestins), stopping the Plan B will result in breakthrough bleeding, but usually minimal. Wait for 7-10 days, and if bleeding persists, get a serum HCG test to make certain about pregnancy. If positive, see your gyn MD immediately.
