My 6 months old has a very bad dry cough, it's been 4 days now and the medication i bought off the counter doesnt seem to be working, he is also struggling to breath properly, please assist ?

Have him evaluated: There are no cough meds for kids that age that do much if anything. If he is truly struggling to breathe it is a real problem and deserves an exam and maybe other tests.
