Complications: All procedures have risks. In your case it sounds like the benefits outweigh the risks. It is usually done with sedation only as it requires some cooperation. For the greater majority of people this anesthesia makes it significantly easier on you and makes the procedure quicker and easier for the MD which is beneficial for you.
