Had my physical and blood test results looked good except total protein was 8.1 g/dl while normal is 5.6-7.8 g/dl. alt 56. can this be ignored?

Yes and no: Alt is high and the protein is slightly high.There are viruses besides Hepatitis B/c that can elevate these.I would abstain from alcohol and as long as having no worrisone symptoms would repeat the test in 1 month.There can be transient elevations due to alot of common viruses that completely resolve and the numbers come back to baseline.
