White on the tongue : That maybe thrush. Ask your doctor if you have a fungus on the tongue which can be treated.

Coating: Agree that could be thrush but usually have elsewhere inside of cheeks.Also when scrap off thrush it bleeds.however with a competent immune system and no recent antibiotics more likely white coated tongue. http://www.healtreatcure.org/tongue/white-coating-on-tongue-bad-breath-back-throat-medicine/
