Muscle Spasms: When the toes start twitching for an unknown reason it is usually because the nerves are sending signals to the muscles that control the nerves. This means there may have been trauma to the nerves that causes them to depolarize and send signals to the muscles without control. Therapy may help but the cause of the toe twitching should be addressed with some tests like nerve conduction studies.
