Doesn’t directly: Bentyl doesn’t *directly* treat an ulcer (it does not, for example, heal the ulcer or reduce stomach acid that may be irritating it). However, it may treat symptoms that coexist with an ulcer: Bentyl works by decreasing the muscle tension of the large intestines, stopping the spasms and relieving stomach bloating and pain.
