Absolutely: Many people with spina bifida have no medical problems ;r diagnosed later in lifel. Sb means that arch of 1 or more vertebral bones did not completely fuse before birth. Thus midline spinous process remains separate ; you can feel a bifid or double spinous process. However arch is usually completed with cartilage which later becomes bony w no neurologic deficit.Meningo-myelocele is extreme sb w nd.
