Menopause ?: Menopause is frequently misunderstood. It is not just the cessation of regular periods. After 40, "periods" (or bleeding episodes) may become infrequent, and after strong enough stimulation by increases in pituitary hormones, high estrogen levels can simulate a very delayed "period". See your gyn physican for a pelvic ultrasound to determine if diagnostic surgery is indicated, or other testing.

No menopause yet, however I have not had period for 2 yrs. Yesterday, i started having bad cramps, & today bleeding clots. Recent sex also, no issue.
Post meno cramps. No bleeding. 5 yrs menopause (Im 47). Ultrasound shows atrophic uterus & left ovary has a simple 1.6 cm cyst. Everything else on u/s normal.Radiologist said no imaging followup required. My mother had colon cancer.Is cyst a concern?
