Adenopathy: Lymph nodes can swell for various reasons anywhere on the body. Usually this is from initial viral insult. If the the lymph node is not changing in texture or size, there is usually nothing to do.

Fibrosis: If a lymph node gets scarred due to an infection, it may remain palpable for a long time. You may feel the node every couple of weeks, if the lymph gland doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor.
