If still stiff: Multiple toe sprains will result in scarring and stiffness of the toes, which improves with stretching/pt. At 6 months, a visit to your pcp or orthopedist may be required to have you evaluated by a physical therapist.

Toe sprain : I would see a podiatrist at this point and get a new x-ray that seems like a long time given that even most fractures heal in 6 weeks. Scar tissue can be an issue.

It's possible...: But you may have had some damage to the plantar plate as well. A MRI can visualize this and it can possibly be corrected for you.

Get checked: You may have a ruptured plantar plate. Mri would pick it up. 6 months is a long time to not be healed.
