Bleeding on IUD: Any IUD, including the Mirena, can be forced into the cervical canal by uterine contractions, and should be checked to make certain it is still in the uterine cavity. Pregnancy may also occur if the location of the IUD has changed. See your gyn physician for an exam and pelvic ultrasound, and obtain a serum HCG test to be sure about potential pregnancy.
