Strain: A strain of the quadricep muscle is likely and some microtears may also have occurred. Such injuries take 10 days or more to heal. Avoid stressing this muscle. If you can take them, anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen or naproxen for a week may help by reducing associated inflammation. If gradual improvement doesn't occur, consult an orthopedic specialist for evaluation and treatment.
