Rest: You should stop any heavy lifting and rest. If you are able to stand upright and walk, bend, then the condition should gradually improve, a lower back brace may be helpful. If you suspect a fracture or have severe sharp pain or any weakness, problems with feeling in your legs, toes, feet, or difficulty moving, incontinence, or numbness in your thighs, you need an immediate exam by a doctor.
