Acute sinusitis: OTC treatments for acute sinusitis are: Acetaminophen (Tylenol) for pain; nasal spray such as fluticasone (Flonase) can reduce intranasal and sinus inflammation; Benadryl, pseudoephedrine (Sudafed) to dry up mucus. Saline washes / sprays for flushing / lubrication. Ibuprofen. Metholatum under nose or steaming. Lots of hydration and rest. If not getting better, will need antibiotics.
