I had a cold about 6 to 7 weeks ago and was told that it would go away. the cold is gone but l cant seem to drop the cough.

Cough: Your lingering cough can be sign of bronchitis with irritation of the airways. Sometimes in addition, after a viral infection, one can get a bacterial secondary infection. If you have fever, green sputum with the cough that would be sign of bacterial infection, but you may need to be evaluated for reactive airways causing prolonged cough.
