Area of tear?: Depends if the tear is in the central avascular portion of the cartilage or in the vascularized peripheral portion including ligament structures. Peripheral tear can be repaired the central tear is treated with debridement. There is usually a longer recovery following peripheral repair.

Varies: Varies based upon more specifics of the tear and surgery, but 8-12 weeks is fairly standard. Don’t hesitate to discuss the specifics of your case with your surgeon.
