Sinusitis : Sounds like a sinus infection. You need to try an antihistamine decongestant such as Claritin D. If this doesn't help then see your doctor as you may need an antibiotic. Good Luck

Normal sound: The "whooshing" sound is the sound of your heartbeat and it is entirely normal. You can avoid the sensation by getting your ear off the pillow. Have a healthy diet, exercise, drink plenty of water, have safe sex, and get HPV vaccine. Wish you good health! Nutrition: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/.

Ear Whooshing: I agree with all of the other physicians , but would also like to add the need for a possible carotid doppler study, bilaterally. This is to make sure (to rule out) there is no arterial occlusion , or partial occlusion on either side that would be a possible explanation if the other measures fail .

Sinus congestion.: Antibiotic not likely to help. We use nasal steroid spray, antihistamine with or without decongestant, saline rinses, sometimes a short course of oral steroid. A ENT specialist is usually best.
