I have a pain that seems to be running through my chest. from my back to my chest particularly on the left side.

Chest pain : In the chest are the lungs, esophagus (the tube that allows food to pass from the mouth to the stomach) , heart. Surrounding the chest are ribs, skin, nerves, and msucles. All of these can cause pain. The stomach and intestines are a common cause of chest pain. If you have chest heaviness or shortness of breath, especially worse with activity, hopefully you went to the emergency department.
