Goals: Goals will have to be better defined as to what is exercise used for. If exercise is solely used for the goal of helping insomnia a variety of other factors affecting sleep hygiene will have to be considered. The intensity, length, type of exercise will have also to be considered and not just timing with regard to bedtime. Otherwise exercise should be part of a healthy lifestyle.

Everyone's different: When recommendations are given they can apply to many but not all people. Nobody and no one's body is exactly like another's. So a recommendation is a general guideline that had been shown to work in most people. You are special, there is only one of you. Your body needs to exercise more than 5 hours before bedtime to prevent insomnia. Adjust this time and see which works best for you!

Agree with Dr. R: If you schedule allows,it would be better to exercise first thing in the morning. Have a healthy diet, exercise, drink plenty of water, have safe sex, and get HPV vaccine. Wish you good health! Nutrition: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/.
