Multiple choices: Snoring is a sound made when the airflow through the upper airway is blocked. Blockage can be anywhere from the tip of the nose to the roof of the mouth to the back of the tongue to multiple areas. Do not assume that he doesn't have sleep apnea unless he has had an overnight sleep study. There are treatments to reposition, to use breathing strips to nose, dental appliances, CPAP & surgery.

Yes: He might have an easily overlooked condition called upper airways resistance syndrome. If not, check with an ENT physician for a thorough evaluation and possible surgical options.

Yes: The " pillar procedure" places dacron inserts into soft palate with minimal discomfort, the laup procedure ( laser assisted uvuloplatoplasty) and uuup are all available to significantly reduce and in some cases eliminate snoring. Minor cases can sometimes be addressed with changes in sleep position and even with osa appliances such as nasal inserts known marketed by prescription as provent.

Snoring: Hello, snoring is caused by a narrowing in your breathing pathway that is associated with vibration of the soft tissues in your upper airways. I first recommend weight loss if you are overweight. If your sleeping partner notices a stoppage of your breathing, then sleep apnea may be present which needs more thorough testing. If afrin helps to eliminate the snoring, it may improve with a nasal eval.
