Viral syndrome: You most likely have acute viral upper respiratory infection, which can be caused by many common airborn viruses. Drink plenty of fluids and rest. Take some anti-inflammatory meds like Motrin or aleve (naproxen). If you are not better in a week or two, see a doctor.

Most likely a virus.: These symptoms are only a few hours old, the painful throat probably is a pharyngitis (a throat infection, usually viral, especially since your body is achy). Gargle with salt water gargles, take acetominophen (tylenol) or Ibuprofen (advil) as long as not sensitive to those and drink a lot of water and clear fluids; you'll likely be over it in a couple days. If not....Right....See your gp.
