Many conditions: From your description, this may be an influenza infection, or another respiratory infection. Your PCP may screen you for the flu and start Tamiflu (oseltamivir) within 48 hrs as indicated. A strep screen may also be performed at the same time. Typically viral illness self resolve within 10 days.
