Bllod clots: Increased levels of estrogen and Progesterone can cause the blood to become "thicker" and more likely to clot. Both stroke and heart attack are caused by blood clots. There is also and increased risk of blood clots in the leg veins (DVT) and in the pulmonary arteries(pulmonary embolism or pe).
