A member asked:

Is it at all, ever possible for afib to be misdiagnosed as svt or vice versa?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: It is not uncommon for these 2 supraventricular dysrhythmias to be missdiagnosed. Atrial fibrillatory P waves may be very low amplitude on the EKG or the irregularity of the ventricular response may be almost regular causing the misdiagnosis.
