PCOS: Metformin and spironolactone may assist with ovulation and consequent periods as a result with PCOS. There is no benefit in taking Metformin/spironolactone if taking oral bcp's. Reduction of weight may occur with Metformin. Oral bcp's stop ovarian function, and reduce the risk of constant estrogen production on your uterus without ovulation, which can cause uterine disease.
