A member asked:

Im 31. is a simple paraovarian cyst worrisome? why would it warrant follow-up? not pregnant. gynecologist wants me to come back again for ultrasound

Paraovarian cyst: While a "simple paraovarian cyst" may not be cause for immediate concern, ovarian disease which can become malignant is usually asymptomatic until the disease is largely untreatable. Ultrasound with what is called "Doppler" evaluation of the blood flow through the ovary can provide information which is valuable for early diagnosis of dangerous disease, and can be life saving.
