Tightness: Many time the posterior leg muscles are attached to the lower femur. When the leg stretches, so does the Achilles tendon which attached the same muscles to the back of the heel. When there is too much stretching there is inflammation and pain. Rest and other treatments may make the pain go away and if the tendon is re stretched too much the pain will return. In some cases a heel left will help
