A member asked:

I'm going through achilles debridement and rehab, are there any major do's or don'ts?

Yes.: You will have to stay off the ankle for 2 weeks after surgery. If its just a debridement you'll be place in a removable orthosis. If tendon repair is necessary you may placed in a cast. It will be 3 to 4 months of rehab after that. Good luck!

Yes: Follow your doctor's instructions. Impact loading activities are usually to be avoided for a number of weeks. Hopefully you have already evaluated by an orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon - if not one in your area can be found at www.Aofas.Org.
