A member asked:

Cytoscopy done today. no inflammation, cancer, or warts found. tip of penis pain. all negative tests including urine, urine culture, and sti. wbc found under microscope. urologist said looked perfect. cytoscopy certainly would've found an issue?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Penis lesion?: The mucous lining of the urethra can contain a shallow ulcer compatible with Herpes I or II and may not be shown by the tests enumerated. Ask the urologist to test for Herpes by IgG or IgM methods if not done, as this type of ulcerated lesion would not be visible necessarily, but could produce the pain experienced, especially with urine contact.
