A member asked:

I was clinical diagnosed with herpes. i tested negative for hsv 1 and 2 at 9 12 and20 weeks igg herpeselect. are my blood test conclusive?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Herpes I and II: It is possible for Herpes I and II to be temporarily dormant, so IgG testing may not detect actual infection. Under stressful conditions, either type of Herpes may become active and therefore testable via IgG testing, so it is not 100% conclusive that Herpes is not present by IgG testing at intervals. It is also possible that you did not have Herpes when "clinically diagnosed".
