A member asked:

I have had the hpv vaccination in 2009 (12 years old). what are the risks i have cervical cancer at age 21?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Remote: The vaccine you were likely given covers 2 of the main HPV strains associated with cervical cancer. There are at least 5 other cancer associated strains now covered by the newest HPV vaccine (Gardisil 9). These help your body develop antibody protection to avoid HPV. If you still got a cancer strain,it would likely be many years before cancer or pre cancer developed.Pap smears are still a good idea
