A member asked:

Got bit by house cat lastnite in index finger,3 punture wounds, washed with antibacterial soap, put antibiotic ointment on it,anything else i should do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cat bite: Cat bites are commonly associated with bacterial infections because of the deep penetration of the bite. You did the correct treatment so far, but if you see any indication of redness or discharge from any of the puncture wounds then please see your doctor for an evaluation since early antibiotics can be important.
