Tetanus shot?: You might need one. There is not much info on zoonoses (infections spread from animals to man) related to squirrels. They rarely if ever carry rabies, may well carry leptospirosis, and could be carriers of tularemia. If you become febrile or the wound develops infection, see your doc. Squirrels can also be a reservoir for plague but the disease is not found in Michigan.
