Not eat/avoid: Reflux is a natural event that will happen to anyone if the entrance to their stomach does not fully close. Caffeine, nicotine & chocolate all are products that prevent full closure. Laying down after a big meal will put mechanical pressure on the site possibly allowing backwash. Taking antacids/PPI inhibitors can help with symptoms, but avoiding aggravaters is smart.
