Pregnancy pain ?: After 36-38 weeks, the fetus is much lower in the birth canal, and any movement of the fetus may stretch the upper portion of the birth canal, which stimulates pain sensations. This does not necessarily mean that the lower portion of the cervix is dilating. If this continues , see your OB physician for an exam to be certain.
