Weeks or months: Even with iron-rich food intake (meats, leafy vegetables, etc), it would take at least several weeks and probably many months to repleat the bodies iron stores. If the patient is a menstruating woman, it might take years or never happen. Normal treatment includes iron supplements. Discuss with your (or the patient's) doctor.
