Treatable: Agree with Dr. E. If depression is getting in the way of your activities of daily life or you have any thought of harming yourself, see a doctor. Depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain. It is not a moral failing. There are effective treatments. Have a healthy diet and exercise at least 150 minutes/week, drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless.

Yes, Depression can : effect your body. Sleep, appetite & weight can be thrown off. It may exacerbate some medical conditions that you already have. You depression is serious if it is impairing your life, causing unbearable psychic pain or you have thoughts of killing your self.
