I got hit by a cricket ball directly on my left big toe. pretty sure nothing is broken, but what should i look out for? pain is a dull throbbing

Black and blue : Most important is any sign of deep tissue injury. Black and blue are signs of broken blood vessels and blood seeping into the surrounding tissues. That would be indicative of a contusion or even a bone injury. Redness is less serious as it would indicate inflammation from the injury and would be self limited
