Why do antibiotics work for pneumonia caused by pulmonary emblism? it's not a community-acquired infection.

Antibiotics: are useful for all types of bacterial pneumonia, not just community acquired. Pulmonary embolism is (usually) caused by blood clots and is not an infectious disease. A secondary bacterial infection as a complication of PE, for example infection of a lung infarction, would be treated with antibiotics.
