If it spreads, yes: If there is redness, swelling, or pain, this may be worsened infection (e.g. cellulitis). Would recommend that you be seen by a physician if: (1) you develop a fever; (2) you draw a line around the area and see it spreading quickly; or (3) if you see green/yellow pus coming out of the area, as it may be an abscess that needs to be opened.
