Some basics: I would have preferred Miralax not have laxative as part of it's name because it works so different from the others. It is a complex molecule that binds the water you take it with & retains it during its passage through the gut. It thus resists the water removal that accompanies constipation.You can take it safely every day for a year or more. Most should take it for 2X the problem duration & wean
