Can anyone assist me on the topic of infant dyschezia? how is it diagnosed? how does it resolve and when?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Disorder of function: Any infant under 6mo who cries at least 10 min before passing a soft stool can carry this label. It is not constipation, but a lack of success in coordinating how to relax the muscles holding the poop in while generating the abdominal pressure needed to push poop out. It is frustrating, but the kids eventually sort it out. Crying helps abdominal pressure needed to poop.
